Coronation Hall
The Mary Tavy Coronation Hall is available to hold all sorts of events. It is a cheerful and well-maintained amenity. The kitchen (which has recently been renovated) has all the facilities necessary for any function.

Reading Room and Snooker Club
There are no set times for this club. All members are issued with a key, pay a yearly subscription and a nominal amount every time they use the facilities. The room is situated on the left going down Bal Lane just after Warren Road.

Our group offers a friendly and relaxed environment that we hope you and your child will enjoy - come and join us for a coffee and cake! We are open 3 days each week, Monday (all day), Wednesday (mornings only) and Friday (all day).

We are open for babies and toddlers 2 days each week, Monday (10-12.15am) and Wednesday (10-12.15am) We offer sessional day care on Mondays and Fridays between the following times: 9.45am to 12.15pm, and 1.15pm to 3.45pm with a lunch club between these sessions so your child may attend for a full day We provide care and education for young children between the ages of 3 and 5 We provide playgroup and toddler sessions where children under 3 can attend whilst in the care of their parent/carer.

Mondays 2nd & 4th each month. Whist Drives take place in the Coronation Hall every 2nd and 4th Monday in the month at 7.30pm. Entry fee is £2.50 (includes draw tickets).  Prizes are meat joints - beef, pork or lamb. all proceeds for the Coronation Hall funds.

Tuesdays 10:30 – 2:00 Mary Tavy Drop-In for those 55+
This group meets on a Tuesday morning at Mary Tavy Methodist Church Hall 10:30 – 2:00. The group enjoys games of cards and scrabble, along with a cup of tea or coffee and chat. They also benefit from a light lunch of soup or ploughman’s and a dessert. The group enjoys trips to places such as Sidmouth, Exmouth and Looe during the summer, and a lunch out at Christmas. They are also offered the opportunity to join the TASS trips throughout the year. Occasional guest speakers visit the group to give talks on topical subjects, and any ideas are always very welcome.

Tavistock Area Support Services (TASS) has delivered valuable services for people over 55 from Tavistock and Surrounding Areas since 1985. We have developed over time to become one of the local leaders for services for the over 55s in this area. We offer a range of activities in our purpose built centre in Chapel Street, such as Music and Movement, Line Dancing, Whist Drives, Computer Classes, Art Groups and Social Afternoons.

Mary Tavy and Peter Tavy Women’s Institute
A warm welcome is extended to anyone wanting to give us a try on the 2nd Thursday of every month (except August) in the Coronation Hall. There is always a notice on the Post Office board. The President is Margaret Faulkner (01822 810421), the Secretary Ann Madigan (01822 810553).

Thursday evenings between 7p.m. and 9p.m.
The Youth Club is very well attended and has 40+ members. Sessions are at the Coronation Hall on Thursday evenings between 7p.m. and 9p.m.. Any young people between the ages of 11years and 21years are welcome to join. We are always looking for anyone to help out at the club as well. Many activities take place throughout the year including:- Five-a-side football, Trip to the Eden Project, Superbowl and Quazar, Art Workshop with Stiltskin, Dartmoor Activity Weekend and many more.

Third Sunday of the month, Quiz Nights starting at 8.30p.m.
The Elephant’s Nest Cricket Club
This is a thriving club, which, this year has seen some young players joining. The fixture list is varied and the highlight for the team is the Annual Tour – this year it was to Wales. Everyone is welcome at ENNC matches and a fixture list is on the notice board in the hall of the pub.
There are ENNC Quiz nights, which are becoming increasingly popular. Entry is £1 per head and takes place on the first and third Sunday of the month, starting at 8.30p.m.
Venue for above events is at the Elephant’s Nest pub.
The Club is thinking of setting up a Youth Training Group for young players so if you or someone you know might be interested in this and would like more information, please contact the Captain, Mike Ancil on 01822 614710.

Mary Tavy Twinning Association
This is a thriving association when we visit Mery Corbon on alternate years and they visit us on the intervening year. All residents are welcome to join even if they do not wish to go to France or be a host family. There are many social events including:- A Mulled Wine evening at Christmas, Annual Dinner (which is very convivial), Safari Supper, Scrabble Competition (very fiercely contested), Walk on the Wild Side (finishing at a local pub!), a Lamb Lottery, etc.

Mary Tavy Commoners’ Association
The Association was founded in 1910 and is open to all those who hold rights to the Common (Commoners). An AGM is held every March at which officers and a committee are elected. Mary Tavy Victory Memorial Recreation Ground Trust.
This is a very attractive amenity at the centre of the village just off the A386. It has a well-maintained Children’s Play Area, Tennis Courts, Football Facilities (with changing rooms and showers) and a wooded area for the exercising of dogs (please remember to take a bag for the inevitable dog “pressies”). The maintenance of this Recreation Ground takes a considerable amount of money and even with grants and hire charges more is still needed. A way to contribute is to join the Friends Of The Field – Family Membership - £15 Single parent families - £10 Individuals - £7.50.
